What to do with all that leftover MLP fabric? Make yet another quilt for a little girl who used MLP on her birthday invites.
I can honestly say, I am now over this. On to something not pink or purple!

Unicorn Farts Smell Like Skittles
For my very first foray into the quilting world, my best friend asked me to make her daughter a My Little Pony quilt. Since I have a boy, I was slightly thrilled to bask in the pink and purply world of little girls.
For this quilt, MLP fabric was scarce; only one cotton print was available. To supplement the fabric, I ordered a set of cheap sheets which turned out to be polyester (ugh!). I decided to use them anyway, albeit sparingly. Those are the larger ponies on the left. I found a stripe fabric that had all the colors I represented as well to tie it all together. Below are the fabrics I used and where I got them from:
Walmart: My Little Pony sheets
Etsy: Hasbro My Little Pony fabric
Joann: Kona Cotton Solid - Crocus Purple
Joann: Solid - Bright Pink (Would have loved to use Kona but couldn't find a comparable color)
Hawthorne Threads: Riley Blake Designs - Doddlebug Designs - Lovey Dovey Collection - Stripes in Purple
Hawthorne Threads: Aurifil - Violet #2520 in 40wt
Below is a photo of the quilt top. In the future, I will try to remember to take a photo after its quilted and bound (and not on my floor!).
All in all, not bad for my first foray into quilting!
